Hello Members and Friends of the Association,
Request for information
Ed Pijuan recently received a request for information by the daughter of a recently deceased Vietnam era soldier, Charles (NMI) Almy, Army 5th Group 1LT who served from early 1968 to early 1969 in and around Khe Sahn where he received a Purple Heart. The daughter is Christine Iverson and she is seeking information for the upcoming funeral service of her father. She has been in touch with 5th Group CSM who may be trying to assist her. If you knew her dad or may have helpful information about him, please contact her at 931-436-4451. Mr. Almy is not to be confused with CPT Charles Almy of that era, recipient of two Legions of Merit.

Broward County Title Fraud Alert System
Make sure you are registered and be aware that you can now add text alerts in addition to email notifications.
"Protect your home with Broward County’s Title Fraud Alert program, which provides early warnings to owners if unauthorized changes are detected on their property records."
To protect your property records in Broward County, there are actually two separate alert systems you should consider. One is specifically for title/ownership changes, and the other covers any official document recorded in your name.
1. BCPA "Owner Alert" (Title Changes)
This service specifically monitors the Property Appraiser’s records. It will notify you via email or text if a document is received that changes the ownership of your property.
- Sign Up Link: web.bcpa.net/OwnerAlert
- What you need: Your Property ID number (Folio number). If you don't have it, you can find it using the Property Search tool.
- Notifications: During registration, you can opt-in for both email and text alerts.
2. Broward County Recording Notification Service (All Documents)
Since the Property Appraiser only monitors title changes, you should also sign up for this service through the County Clerk’s office. This monitors the "Official Records" and alerts you if any document (like a lien or a mortgage) is recorded with your name or Property ID.

- Capacity: You can monitor up to 40 variations of your name or Property ID per email address.
