St Patricks Day Parade

  SPECIAL FORCES ASSOCIATION

       Chapter 76 - South Florida

            “The Green Berets”

February 25, 2022

Hello Members and Friends of the Association,

Veterans will be the lead group in the parade. Join your fellow Vets for Fellowship & Fun.

Parade starts at 12:00pm – arrive by 11:15 at Fire Station #111 at 501 W Atlantic Ave, Delray Beach.

For Veterans who prefer, march the parade on the back of a Legion / Patriot Rider bike OR on a decked out golf cart.

Post-Parade Party: Veterans – Family – Friends at Delray Playhouse for a party. Mingle – met fellow Vets – Eat & Drink – have Fun.

Register to march in the parade here:  https://forms.gle/HECsoJszZmEC9TW86

More Details:

Veterans are the first section marching in the Delray Beach’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade anticipated to have a spectator crowd of 40,000+.  We are recruiting Vets of all ages to be in the parade – see the attached registration form.

WWII Veterans through to those in their early 20s have registered to be in the parade.  For those who prefer, Legion / Patriot Riders will give some Vets rides and Delray residents who own golf carts are volunteering to drive other Vets on the parade route.  This year is the first full 80th anniversary of WWII and with 40,000+ spectators lining the route, we’ll ensure WWII and all Veterans get a big cheer.

After the parade we will host a Veterans, Family and Friends gathering at the Delray Playhouse where all can mingle with your fellow Vets, make new friends and bonds, have fun and get a bit of food and drink.

We look forward to lots of Veterans joining the parade and going to the post-parade party.  Please register and pass the flyer along to other Vets.

Thank you.

Conrad

SAVE THE DATE!!!                  SAVE THE DATE!!!

This Information was received from Chris Bell & Darryl Schumacher, after a couple of false starts due to our Omicron friend,
we have finally settled on a date for this year’s reunion.

I think everyone should attend if possible, one never knows when they stand in the door for the last time.
Bill Eades

          WHEN:  Saturday, April 9, 2022

WHERE:  Smokin’ Aces - Same place as last year

2509 N Park Rd, Plant City, FL 33563  (Right off I-4 across from Stingray Chevrolet)

          TIME:    1200-1700 hours

          COST:   $25 per person***

We have a slight increase in price as the restaurant had to raise their prices to cover the cost of staying in business with everything going on.  We don’t anticipate any additional monies, unless the Russians have other ideas that might cause the norm to change!

If you are planning on coming, PLEASE send your check or monies to Chris Bell – ASAP - for B/3/20 Reunion at the address shown below.

Our guarantee date with the restaurant is going to be tighter this year, so the sooner we get confirmation and check from you, the better it will be.  If you have any questions, ideas, etc. PLEASE let me know.

Also PLEASE forward this email to any of our brothers on your email list so we make sure we get it out there to everyone.

A BIG thanks goes out to Darryl Schumacher for continuing to work with me to make these reunions happen.  We want it to be the best Reunion yet.

February 22, 2022

Hello Members and Friends of the Association,

View in your browser

Register on-line or by mail for SFACON 2022 in Colorado Springs. Chapter 4-24 has the https://www.specialforcesassociation.org/sfacon/ website up and running. On this website you can click the “register” button to pay by credit card on-line, or you can download and print a .PDF version to fill out by hand and mail in with a check. Another option is to go to the website of our event management partner Armed Forces Reunions, Inc (AFRI) at www.afr-reg.com/sfacon2022and register directly into their system. You can also call AFRI at 757-625-6401 to speak with a representative about registration.

We must inform you of one change: After scrubbing budget estimates from every angle, looking for every cost savings, and incorporating the generous donations of our SFACON sponsors, we must raise the price of premier registration by 12%. At the end of the day this is due to inflation across the economy—and especially in the areas of bus transportation and large venue food & beverage service. The price increase is from $199 to $225. The 2022 Team in Colorado Springs is pursuing every opportunity to provide a high-quality convention at a reasonable price. You will enjoy Colorado Springs; it is a nationally recognized destination city and there are many boutique shops and specialty restaurants within short walking distance of all three hotels. The https://www.specialforcesassociation.org/sfacon/ website and the Facebook page “SFACON 2022 Special Forces Association Convention” have the schedule of events, event descriptions, and hotel links available.

SURVEILLANCE ROLE PLAYER OPPORTUNITIES IN MIAMI

5326 Consultants, Inc. is looking for a few additional surveillance role players (SRPs) in Miami, Florida for work that has been awarded and is starting 23 February.

-POV available to use for surveillance work

We unfortunately can't make any exceptions.

Surveillance mileage will be reimbursed at the IRS rate (as will parking, tolls, and other surveillance-related incidentals). The work will be performed on a 1099 basis.

Dear SF Guys & Ladies:

Thank you for your showing of support for me but especially "Rita" at her funeral today.. Most of you had to travel many miles to get here and get up early too since we started at 9 AM (that was dictated by the cemetery)..

I will be eternally grateful for what you all did for Rita and my family .....You guys with the "Green Berets" , you stood out and looked "AWESOME" as Rita would say!

We've been having too many of these lately, "what you say we slow down huh"?

Take care and know our family was blessed by your coming and show of support...

Your Friend,
Chet Grimsley

MSGT Julian Cunningham EOD February 11, 2022

We lost a great Special Forces brother MSGT(R), Julian Cunningham, he was standing tall
as St. Peter welcomed him into the house of the Lord.

RIP Julian
Bill Eades

We received the picture & below
note

It is with a heavy heart that I report MSGT Julian Cunningham’s last formation on earth was today 2-11-22.    He was surrounded by family as he left this world to be with God.  I had a chance to speak with him today and as I told him how many of you his brothers were praying and thinking of him - he seemed calm, Julian lived by example & was an amazing man and mentor to many.  He always had a word of encouragement and looked out for those around him.  He has touched many lives and will be sorely missed.
He loved giving out his hand-carved “Green Beret” & other personal walking sticks and many of us have them to remember him by.
We will post service details as soon as they become available.Darryl Schumacher
