November 23, 2020

Hello SF Members and Friends of the Association,

We received this from Kevin Harry, SFA President at National HQ.  They are seeking new and returning members of the Special Forces Association.

If you know someone who would qualify for membership, please put them in touch with Ed Pijuan (786-298-8915) or Jim Trice (305-393-2890).

Happy Thanksgiving,

SF Chapter Presidents/Representatives,

There has been lot of discussion at USASOC, 1st SFC (A) and USAJFKSWCS on SF/SOF Soldier for Life and how the SFA can continue to provide the network to reach out to SF Soldiers, Veterans, Retirees, and their Families, worldwide.  We are fast approaching 10,500 active members but we have an additional 12,500 inactive members that are not in a current status.  We, as an Association, must continue to reach out to our SF Alumni to provide assistance where needed, an ear to listen, network within the SF community, opportunities to fellowship and participate in community services/activities.

SFA National is requesting each chapter participate in a 90-day membership drive focused on Annual and Expired SFA Members from December 1, 2020 through February 28,2021.

On December 1, 2020, we will be sending each chapter their current number of members (baseline), their inactive member list along and the inactive lists broken down by State.  The State lists will include all At-Large members that have lived or have a Home of Record (HOR) in your AOR.  We feel that it is important to welcome the At-Large members to your chapter meetings, social events, and community programs so that they can stay connected to the SF community.  One thing that 2020 has made very clear, we must know who is in our AOR and what resources are available to help our SF Alumni/Families navigate through difficult times.

There will be prizes for the top three SFA Chapters that see the greatest increase (by percentage) in membership by February 28, 2021.  The prizes will include cash (TBD) and/or SFA National will facilitate a couple chapter members to attend future Special Forces Qualification Course graduation or other engagement with USASOC, 1st SFC (A) and USAJFKSWCS leaders.  More to follow on type of Fort Bragg experience and/or cash value for top recruiting chapters.

To be successful, each chapter must make sure their annual members remain active for 2021, recruit inactive members back to their chapter and search for At-Large members in their State and surrounding States.  Be creative, if the address and phone number on the lists are not current then Google, search social media and ask your members if they know these or other SF Soldiers, Veterans and Retirees in your AOR.

Please get this WARNO out to your membership and we will provide more information O/A December 1, 2020.  DOL

Respectfully,

Kevin L. Harry

Hello SF Members and Friends of the Association,

Treasurer Jim Trice would like to remind those to whom it is applicable that annual dues will become due soon.  As you are probably aware, the chapter maintains funds for various reasons including the benefit of us who may find ourselves in need, to purchase products for resale and to donate to worthy causes.

Attached is a handy one page renewal form with all instructions included including who your check is written to and where to mail it.  Jim’s number for questions is: Cell 305-393-2890.
