SERGEANT MAJOR WILLARD WAYNE WYNN HAS PASSED

SERGEANT MAJOR WILLARD WAYNE WYNN HAS PASSED ~ 

CSM, Willard Wayne Wynn, United States Army RET age 72 of Starke, passed away at his home on Monday, April 26, 2021. Mr. Wynn was born on July 8, 1948 in Starke to the late Willard Edwin and Doris “Prevatt” Wynn. Mr. Wynn had an extensive military career which consisted of 41 years and 3 months where he retired as a Command Sergeant Major. He also retired from the United States Department of Agriculture in Gainesville. Wayne was a faithful member of First Christian Church in Starke, was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, the Special Forces Association, and he was on the board of the Keystone Airport Authority. 

Wayne enjoyed flying planes since he got his pilots license during high school. He owned an airplane which he flew out of the Keystone Airport. He also enjoyed flying remote control planes, camping and spending hours working in his shop on his Big Boy Toys. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Travis Carl Wynn of Starke. Survivors include his wife, Charlotte R. Wynn of Starke; son, Brian Wynn of Starke; siblings, Gwendolyn Akridge of Starke, Diane (William) Hodge of Starke, and Sheila (Darrin) Hardee of Starke; along with two nieces, Teresa Matthews of Starke, Savannah Hardee of Starke and two nephews, Shawn Akridge of Starke and Eric Hodge of Raleigh, N.C.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday May 15th at 11:00am at First Christian Church of Starke with Pastor Tom Moore officiating.
