Hello SF Members and Friends of the Association,

 

As we celebrate this Christmas 2020, we will be doing so without a valued friend and brother.  It is with much sadness and deep regret that I must write my Christmas message and inform you of the passing of CSM(R) Carlos Zayas.  Many of us had known Carlos for 40 years or longer and considered him to be a friend, mentor, compadre and a member of our Special Forces family.  Carlos served honorably for over 42 years in the US Army and National Guard including Special Forces and Military Intelligence.  

 

At this time, we do not have any further details such as date of death, cause or service information, but will share them with you as we learn more.  It would appear that he lived to be 72 years old, since he celebrated a birthday on November 11^th and we are just now learning of his passing.

 

As we learn that COVID cases are on the rise, please be careful. Wear masks and wash your hands frequently. 

 

Please let us know if you need assistance or a delivery made and keep us apprised of your health status should it change for the worse.   

 

On the more positive note, a COVID vaccine is available for those who will take it. 

 

We look forward to a better 2021 and even though times may seem uncertain, it is important that we keep an optimistic outlook for ourselves and our loved ones.

 

Merry Christmas to my SF Brothers and hope to see you soon.

We would like to remind everyone to whom this applies that annual dues for 2021 are due.  Our chapter raises funds for various reasons including the benefit of those of us who may find ourselves in need.  

Attached is a handy one page renewal form with all instructions included including who and where your check is to be written.  If you have your member number, it will not be necessary to fill out the form… just write your member number on your check and mail it to :

Chapter 76 - Special Forces Association                                                            Renewal/Reinstatement Form (Updated January 14, 2019)

***  It is Important that you remit dues DIRECTLY TO OUR LOCAL CHAPTER  ***

Without your dues, the effectiveness of our Chapter is impaired. Paid Dues cover the period from 1 January to 31 December of each year.  Members who do not pay dues by 31 January become delinquent and are placed on inactive status and will not receive future issues of The Drop or other official correspondence from SFA National.  Remember the strength of the Association rests with its members.

Dues paid after 30 September will be applied to the next year’s dues (and become effective immediately).  (PLEASE PRINT ALL INFO BELOW)

*** Life Members pay no annual dues *** All Dues Payable by Check or Money Order ***

___Annual Dues Renewal. $40.00 for a one-year renewal of my membership. Note: Annual renewal is $40.00 if paid before 30 January of each year.

___Reinstatement (if you missed the Jan 31 deadline). $45.00, which includes a $5.00 reinstatement fee along with the $40.00 annual renewal fee.  Note: annual renewals are $45.00 after 30 January of each year.

___Life Membership. $440.00 for a lifetime membership. The $440.00 fee applies to members in good standing only.

___Reinstatement & Life Membership.  $475.00 for reinstatement and lifetime membership of which $440.00 is the life membership fee, $30.00 is for annual dues and $5.00 is for reinstatement.

___Life Membership (65 and over). Date of Birth ___________. $320.00 for a lifetime membership. The $320.00 fee applies to members in good standing only.

___Reinstatement & Life Membership (65 and over). Date of Birth __________. $345.00 for reinstatement and a lifetime membership of which $320.00 is the life membership fee, $20.00 is for annual dues and $5.00 is for reinstatement.

Thank you again for helping spread the word about the Miami-Dade COVID-19 Financial Relief Programs, the program deadline is quickly approaching so we were hoping you could help us make one final push to get the word out. The deadline for accepting applications is Monday, December 7, 2020.

I've also attached a copy of the program flyers. We really appreciate any additional help you could provide in spreading the word. The program still have plenty of funds available and it would be great to be able to help as many Miami-Dade residents are possible.
